MYCELX Polymer
Engineered to Last
From Contamination to Clarity
MYCELX® polymer is the foundation of our water treatment technology. Its unique hydrophobic and oleophilic chemistry selectively attracts, captures, and permanently binds hydrocarbons and organic contaminants at the molecular level. The result is superior oil and gas water treatment, delivering industry-leading oil removal, improved water quality, and reliable performance in the most demanding produced water applications.
How It Works
Permanently Bound
Contaminants
Every MYCELX system starts with a distinct advantage: our proprietary polymer technology. Unlike conventional polymers that are added directly into a waste stream, MYCELX polymer is permanently infused into our filtration media. As water passes through, hydrocarbons bind at a molecular level—not just on the surface. Contaminants are drawn in, securely retained, and won’t wash back out when conditions change.
This core innovation is paired with our patented equipment designs, engineered to maximize performance, reliability, and control across demanding applications. Together, these technologies are what allow MYCELX systems to perform consistently—when others lose control.
How It Works
Molecular Cohesion,
Not Filtration
Conventional sorbents absorb oil until they're full — then release it back. MYCELX works differently at a molecular level. Oil that contacts MYCELX polymer never re-enters the water stream.
-
Contact &
Instant BindingThe patented MYCELX polymer is infused into sorbent substrates. The moment oil touches the surface, molecular cohesion creates an immediate, irreversible bond — no saturation delay.
-
Hydrophobic
RepulsionWhile binding oil permanently, the substrate repels water. Unlike traditional sorbents that become waterlogged and useless, MYCELX products stay effective across their entire service life.
-
Permanent
ImmobilizationOil is converted into a cohesive viscoelastic mass that cannot re-emulsify, form tar balls, or sink. The result: genuinely oil-free water verified down to sub-1-ppm levels.
-
Safe Disposal
Spent media generates no liquid waste. Solid material can be disposed of in a standard landfill or incinerator — a fraction of the disposal cost of legacy systems.
