OVERBOARD DISCHARGE POLISHING PROJECT
GULF OF MEXICO
Upstream Oil and Gas
Offshore facilities are crucibles of technology. Topside producers face difficult operating conditions, limited space, long supply chains, and strict environmental discharge factors. Production curtailment or shut-in is a very real consequence of underperforming water treatment equipment.
MYCELX addresses these issues with tertiary polisher technology that acts as an insurance policy enabling overboard discharge in the most difficult operating conditions. No production is lost while meeting environmental regulations.
Most in-place water treatment equipment on facilities are designed for maximum expected throughput. Frequently, prolonged upsets put conventional treatment units that rely on gravity separation techniques at a disadvantage.
MYCELX Polisher systems have been successfully deployed on deep and ultra-deepwater floating facilities treating discharge water since 2011. The polisher can be installed as a stand-alone system or as a bolt-on to underperforming existing treatment trains boosting performance and enabling continuous discharge and operations. Addition of a controls package enables intermittent use of the Polisher as an insurance policy during excursions and upstream equipment failures.
