Process water is generated by almost all industries and is used as a coolant, solvent or cleaner. As a result, material fragments, lubrication oils, grit and other contaminants can be introduced during these processes or from leaks in adjacent equipment. A MYCELX filtration system removes contaminants, including oil and grease, emulsified and soluble hydrocarbons, suspended solids, COD, and BOD.
The recycling or disposal of these water sources requires effective treatment to protect downstream equipment and products or to meet discharge guidelines. If left untreated, oils and solids will accumulate in the process and lead to fouling and corrosion. Discharge of this water leads to increased permitting and makeup water costs.
