    Oily Mist

    Oil mist filtration is needed in machine shops, metal working shops, and nearly all fabrication industries. Left unfiltered, oily mist can collect and cause a health hazard in the working environment. Excess oily mist can impact air handling units not designed for oil removal. Since oil mist is typically 90-95% water, most of the filter capacity is not used for oil removal. MYCELX infused air filters are hydrophobic, rejecting the oil infused water on contact, which allows for high loading of oil on each filter before replacement.

Common Problems

Most extraction systems use a combination of specialty oil removal filters and HEPA filters. The final stages of filters are expensive, requiring pretreatment filters to ensure operation.
