POLYMER FLOOD PRODUCED WATER TRIAL

Upstream Oil and Gas
As oil fields mature, chemical enhanced oil recovery can be used to mobilize as much as 30% of oil remaining in the formation. This requires additional chemicals mixed with the injection liquid. These processes are typically referred to as Polymer Flooding, Surfactant Polymer Flooding, and Alkali Surfactant Polymer Flooding. These chemicals migrate through the formation increasing the production rate of oil, but will remain in the produced water. MYCELX water treatment can help mature assets with substantial oil reserves continue to competitively produce in challenging economic climates.
The chemicals change the composition of the produced water stream and cause significant challenges for traditional produced water treatment techniques. Facilities are also often located in arid climates where water has limited availability or is highly regulated. This can force operators to recycle as much of the produced water as possible for re-injection.
MYCELX REGEN is an advanced backwashable media filter that can be used as an alternative to secondary/ tertiary walnut shell filtration. With a MYCELX REGEN System, operators are more reliably able to predict and reduce costs associated with cEOR production techniques.
