Haluk Alper
President, Co-founder
An inventor of chemistries and chemical processes, Haluk holds numerous patents, including 15 in MyCelx oil removal chemistry and related applications. The co-founder of MyCelx Technologies, he leads a hand-picked global team of engineers who together develop the legacy of innovative industrial oil removal solutions at MyCelx. Haluk has developed over 50 products and processes currently in use in electrochemistry, polymer chemistry and environmental technology.
A published author with over 50 scientific and technical papers to his credit, Haluk is a member of numerous professional societies, including NYAS (New York Academy of Sciences), AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science, ASNE (American Society of Naval Engineers), SNAME (Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers), NDIA (National Defense Industrial Association),), AFS (American Filtration and Separation Society), ACS (American Chemical Society), AICHE (American Institute of Chemical Engineers), WEF (Water Environmental Federation), and the Planetary Society.
A lifelong environmentalist, Haluk is co-chair of the Society of Naval Architects’ and Marine Engineers’ Technical and Research Committee panel (EC-3) on Oily Wastewater and Bilgewater. Alper also serves on the technical advisory board of Environmental Protection Magazine and is a member of the Board of Directors of Filtration News Magazine and MyCelx Technologies Corporation.
Connie Mixon
CEO
Driven by delivering share holder value, Connie Mixon is a hands-on business leader known for her ability to forge relationships outside the company and to foster innovation within the company. Connie is responsible for rapidly developing the commercial and financial infrastructure to provide MyCelx solutions worldwide, a task her 18 year career with investment banks rigorously prepared her for. Since joining MyCelx in 2004, she has delivered double digit growth and created a world class distribution network which includes Wilhelmsen Ship Services, the global leader in marine distribution.
Prior to joining MyCelx in 2004, Connie was Director for Global Markets for Deutsche Bank, a financial leader with 80,000 employees. Her career with investment banks included pioneering Deutsche Bank’s institutional presence in the southern region of the U.S. Before her tenure at Deutsche Bank, Connie was Vice President at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, the 11,000-person investment banking firm owned by Credit Suisse.
Connie holds an MBA from Emory University and a B.A. in politics from Wake Forest University.
John Mansfield, Sr.
Chairman of the Board, Co-founder
Combining decades of success and vision in the oil and gas industry, John Mansfield, Sr. solidifies the extraordinary team now in place at MyCelx Technologies.
John's career in the petroleum business begin in 1957 when he founded Mansfield Oil Co., today one of the largest petroleum distributors in the U.S. Under John's leadership, Mansfield grew from a small, locally owned company into a major distributor for southeastern states.
While CEO of Mansfield Oil, John saw an opportunity that was on the forefront of revolutionizing the oil and gas industry and in 1981, began Kangaroo Convenience Stores. With a chain of over 100 stores that spanned the southeastern area of the U.S., Kangaroo set the standard for service and quality. Mansfield Oil was sold in 1994 and Kangaroo in 1997.
Identifying and developing businesses that bring solutions to problems are the source of inspiration behind John's commitment to exploring new areas of opportunity. After meeting Haluk Alper and understanding the tremendous potential behind the MyCelx molecule, he co-founded MyCelx Technologies in 1994. As MyCelx continues to expand its' worldwide network of clients while producing new products and technologies, John continues to be a motivating and influential leader within the company.
John and his wife Betty reside in Amelia Island, Fl. and St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada.
